The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps would like to invite YOUout to Ames Field in Michigan City, Ind. for night of pure drum corps entertainment on Saturday, July 2 at 7:00 PM!
Set at the picturesque Ames Field just off Lake Michigan, thePageant of Drums promises to once again feed the need of drum corps diehards and new fans alike! This long-standing American tradition features the Legends, Colt Cadets, Pioneer, Troopers, Colts, Glassmen, Blue Stars, Bluecoats, Classic Cavaliers and The Cavaliers.
“We’ve got another strong lineup in Michigan City,” said co-Event Coordinator Craig Rasin. “These groups are hitting their stride for the 2011 season, and we expect to be nothing short of impressed on Saturday night!”
“The corps has come out of the gate pushing full steam ahead,” said Corps Director Adolph DeGrauwe. “We look to keep that intensity in rehearsals and performances as XtraordinarY solidifies even more. The Pageant of Drums will be a perfect opportunity to share that progress with our hometown crowd - we can’t wait!”
The 2011 program features “Footprints” by Wayne Shorter, “Jungle Tango” by The Jazz Mandolin Project, and “Nature Boy” by Eden Ahbez.
Before the contest, The Cavaliers will participate in the 56th Annual Michigan City Summer Festival Parade, running along Franklin Street from 10th Street to Ames Field. Crowds are often four and five deep on the sidewalks along the parade route, so spectators should arrive early to get choice spots. The Summer Festival Parade starts promptly at 11:00 AM this Saturday, July 2.
